On April 30th, Tennessee fans expected to get a commitment from Linebacker Terrence Lewis, what they did NOT expect was to receive a commitment from the No. 1 Juco RB Tiyon Evans from Hutchinson community college, if that particular college sounds familiar to Vol fans it should, as former Vol’s Alvin Kamara, and Cordarrelle Patterson both played football there. Let’s get into what the Vols are getting here. At 5 feet 9 inches, and weighing 225 lbs Evans is built like a tank and is the tough running back that Head Coach Jeremy Pruitt has been looking forward since arriving on campus, in 2019 Evans averaged a whopping 8.8 yards per carry, rushing 61 times for 538 yards. When you turn on the film, Evans is very capable as a receiver as well, showing you some pretty nice grabs in traffic. Evans will fit in nicely with the very talented running back room the Vols currently have.
