The Wildcats Add a Transfer Guard!

Davion Mintz, a graduate transfer from Creighton University is Kentucky’s newest Guard. He announced today via Instagram!Kentucky will get pleasure of having Mintz for one season. He is a combo guard who will more than likely share time with Devin Askew at point guard next season.

Mintz started 79 games for the Bluejays during his first three seasons with the program. Prior to his senior season in 2019-20, Mintz suffered a high ankle sprain. Instead of missing half the season and trying to work his way back, he chose to redshirt in December and retain a year of eligibility. He entered the transfer portal last week with this tweet.
The commitment doesn’t come as a surprise as Travis Graf of Catsillustrated.com said yesterday that the Cats were more than likely going to add a grad transfer! Shortly after that Evan Daniels of 24/7 sports put in a Crystal Ball perdition for Mintz to Kentucky. Then Twitter took off with it!
It has been a while since Kentucky has had a senior guard. I think Mintz will provide great leadership and good minutes! Mintz can shoot the three well and plays good defense. He should be a perfect fit for what the Cats needed to add to roster if Kentucky loses what they expect to lose in the draft.
