For the first time since 1984, The University of Kentucky football team went in to Knoxville and won. No— you didn’t misread the first sentence and this is not a cruel dream. The streak is over and Coach Stoops continue to break down the seemingly impossible walls that have plagued the Cats for, what seems like an eternity. First and foremost, however, our defense is EXACTLY who I thought they were—they just needed a couple of weeks to get rolling. In the past two weeks the defense has allowed only 7 points (Miss States two points came from an arrant snap that found its way to the end zone) and have forced 10 turnovers in that same time. If the offense can continue to improve, I think Kentucky can really end the season strong, but I will not discuss what if’s today. Today is about celebrating the streak ending, and getting a huge win against a good program for Chris Oats and Coach Schlarman!
