March 31st, 2015 was the day that the sports world learned Rick Barnes had accepted the Head Coaching job at the University Of Tennessee. The Hall Of Fame-worth Coach has since won some pretty big games at the UT. Let’s rank the top 5 games of the Rick Barnes Tennessee Era.

5. Kentucky February 2nd, 2016

The first big win of the Rick Barnes era was a home victory against #20 Kentucky. The Vols may not have had a great season, but they showed promise. Especially with this win. Kevin Punter scored a game high 27 points, and Armani Moore grabbed 13 rebounds to help the Vols erase a 21 pt lead and get the win 84-77.

4. Kentucky January 24th, 2017

A pattern during Rick Barnes’ time at Tennessee is winning big games against the wildcats. The Vols won this one with the help of a 25 pt game from Robert Hubbs. Grant Williams chipped in 13 pots, 6 rebounds, and 6 assist to help the Vols win 82-80.

3. Gonzaga December 9th, 2018

This will be a game Vol fans will talk about for years to come. Admiral Schofield scored 25 of his 30 points in the second half. Grant Williams notched 16 points, 12 rebounds, and 7 assist. The Vols won 76-73

2. Kentucky March 3rd, 2020.

This game is far up the list(not because it is so hard to win at Rupp, the Vols won at rupp just a year or two before) because of the situation. The Vols were pretty big underdogs with their backs against the walls, but thanks to 27 points from the Wildcat killer (no disrespect to other wildcat killer Lamonte Turner) John Fulkerson, the Vols pulled off the massive upset on the road. Yves Pons also made some massive plays down the stretch. Vols won 81-73.

1. Georgia March 3rd, 2018.

This game the Vols won a tight fought game against the Bulldogs, and clinched a share of the SEC regular season Championship. Admiral Schofield made a heroic late game steal to help bring the Title home to Knoxville. Admiral totaled 23 points, and Grant Williams chipped in 22 points, PB&J led the Vols to a 66-61 win.
