New Target For The Wildcats?

Late Thursday evening VCU's leading scorer Marcus Santos-Silva announced that he will transfer. Santos-Silva started 31 games for VCU last season and has started 64 games total during his time at VCU. Last season, Silva averaged 12.8 points and 8.9 rebounds and led the team double-doubles. Santos-Silva is a 6'7 250 pound Center that will provide a presence down low where ever he attends. Stadium sports also ranks Santos-Silva a top 10 instant eligible transfer. Marcus went to Instagram to make this announcement. ( he also has considered putting his name in the draft but seems extremely unlikely)

As always Kentucky fans flooded social media putting attention on the newest transfer. Kentucky fans also took to Santos-Silva's Instagram post to flood the comments to let him know he would be welcome in Lexington.

Is there mutual interest between Marcus and UK? There has been no true word yet. I do believe that we will see Cal and company pursue this transfer simply because the Cats are needing front court help in the worst way. As Kentucky lost every player from last years team except Keion Brooks.

I know a lot of fans are wondering if this means that we will not be getting Matt Haarms. There is no official word on Haarms yet but Kentucky is seen as front runner. Jeff Goodman of Stadium sports reported so this morning.

Can Kentucky add both Santos-Silva and Haarms? I doubt it, both have one season of eligibility and want to showcase their talent.

Either way I trust Coach Cal and staff and we won't be left empty handed, I promise!
