Mr. Clutch, Thank You!
You’ll always be known in our hearts as the cat killer. From 2 daggers to beat Kentucky in consecutive years and all the rest of the clutch shots you hit, thank you Lamonte Turner—from the bottom of every Tennessee fan’s heart.
Following today’s victory over Jacksonville State, 5th-year-senior starting Point Guard Lamonte Turner announced that he has been diagnosed with Thoracic Outlet Syndrome which will require a season-ending surgery. Turner was excepted to be the leader of this young Vols team, giving fans hopes of another NCAA tournament run. It sucks not only for this team, but so much more for Turner who had high hopes for himself.
Turner, who is a great young man on and off the basketball court, has been shown the greatest support by Vol nation. He won all of our hearts with every dagger he’s ever hit. As I said before, he’s the “cat killer!” His legacy will always live on with Vol nation. From every person in Vol nation and in NCAA basketball, we wish Lamonte a speedy recovery! You’ll always be a VFL (Vol for life) and thank you for everything you’ve done for our program.
