The Lady Vols took their first loss of the season falling to 2-1 after a loss to the Lady Mountaineers of West Virginia, with a final score of 79-73 in overtime. Rae Burrell led the Vols in scoring with 18 points, and guard Jordan Horston came second in scoring with 13 points. It is very possible the Lady Vols lost the game behind the arc as they shot a lackluster 2-19 (10%) from three point land and the Mountaineers 9-24 (37.5%) theirselves. Three point shooting has been a problem so far this year for the Lady Vols, they have failed to shoot above 30% as a team all season. Renia Davis struggled herself against the Mountaineers going 4-19 (21%) from the field and 0-5 from behind the Three Point line.
The Lady Vols will be back home on Thursday as they host Furman and hopefully get back on track. The game is scheduled to tip off at 7:00 pm est and will stream on SECN+
