Kentucky vs Morehead State Preview

The University of Kentucky opens their 2020-2021 campaign tomorrow night at Rupp Arena, against in-state opponent Morehead State University. The Wildcats are projected as an early favorite in the SEC after having the number one recruiting class in the nation this season. Kentucky adds tons of talent to the roster this season with a mix of young phenom prospects such as BJ Boston and Terrence Clarke, as well as some seasoned NCAA veterans like Davion Mintz and Olivier Sarr. The mix of talent and leadership that the wildcats have could be a recipe for a special season in Lexington. Their opponent—Morehead State—comes to them from the OVC (Ohio Valley Conference) and is located roughly 45 minutes from Lexington. The eagles are coached by former University of Kentucky graduate assistant, Preston Spradlin who is in his fourth season as the head coach and his seventh overall with the program. The eagles won 13 games a year ago and lost their top two scorers from last years team, so they may struggle early on in finding their identity and their go to man. Vegas has the wildcats as a 23.5-point favorite and, even as a Morehead State alum, I must take Kentucky at -23.5. Their length, athleticism and star power will take over this game and I think we will see BJ Boston start off his college career with a bang, along with Sarr having a monster game as well.

Bold Prediction: Olivier Sarr will record the 3rd ever triple-double in UK history.
