Kentucky Gets Signatures from Collins, Hickman, and Hopkins
John Calipari and staff have officially added 3 guys to the 2021 recruiting class! Daimion Collins, Nolan Hickman and Bryce Hopkins are now Kentucky Wildcats for the long haul, but will only make up a portion of this next years recruiting class.
Collins, a 6'9"PF from Atlanta, Texas, was considered a Texas/Oklahoma lean for the longest period of time before Kentucky added Jai Lucas to the staff. Lucas was the lead recruiter for Collins at Texas in his time there, which abundantly helped Kentucky reel him in. Collins is a living pogo stick and has a special gift when it comes to his timing on blocking shots. Many believe Collins has only scratched the surface on how good he can be. Its probably premature to say that Collins is only the 10th best prospect in the 2021 class, where Rivals has him ranked at this very moment.
Nolan Hickman, one of the precious diamonds in the rough that Calipari found, has also signed with Kentucky. At 6'2",170 lbs, Hickman actually plays on the same AAU team as Paolo Banchero, who committed to Duke. Banchero, a top 3 prospect in the country, had this to say about Hickman.
Last, but definitely not least, Kentucky also added Bryce Hopkins, a 6'6" SF out of Oak Park, IL. Hopkins was formerly committed to the little brother of Kentucky (L's down), but reopened his recruitment after receiving an offer from Calipari.
Although early signing period is passing, Kentucky is not done with their class.
They are still in the running with Patrick Baldwin, Jaden Hardy, Hunter Sallis, and Brandin Podziemski. Also, Skyy Clark remains a reclass posssibility, who is already committed to Kentucky. Jalen Duran, who has an offer from Kentucky, has also flirted with the thought of reclassifying.
