Kentucky Football ending on High Notes

The crazy 2020 football season ended on a bright note for the Kentucky wildcats as they defeated NC state in the Gator Bowl yesterday. UK finished the season with a 5-6 record in a year where much was expected of this team, but after losing standout Chris Oates with an undisclosed medical condition and offensive line coach John Schlarman lost his courageous fight with cancer, I think the cats were very successful. In a year where Covid-19 cancelled many games across the country, we are left wondering what could have been for a lot of programs. I expect for UK to come out strong next season with a new OC, and presumably Joey Gatewood taking control of the offense, I—like many fans— hope to see the offense be revitalized. Mark stoops has done wonderful things and Lexington and I believe the best is yet to come.

Thank you to Oates for all you have done and will continue to do for this program. Thank you to Coach Schlarman for constructing the big blue wall, and for being a shining example of toughness, resilience and being the most bad ass coach to ever do it. Your memory will live on in this program eternally, and may you Rest In Peace. BBN is forever grateful.
