With the help of Rae Burrell, the Lady Vols beat Furman 90-53. Rae, who had the absolute best game of her life finished with 26 points and 7 assists, Burrell went 9-12 from the field and 6-7 from three and continued her good plays so far this season. Unfortunately, Rennia Davis continued to struggle scoring going 3-9 from the field, but she managed to grab 5 rebounds and dished out 4 assists. After a somewhat slow start, it looked like Furman might be able to hang around in the game, though halftime the Lady Vols had a 19 point lead and never looked back. This was a nice bounce back win after losing to West Virginia on Sunday in a game where the shots just wouldn't fall for the Lady Vols. Tonight those same shots fell as they shot 54% from the field and a scorching 58% from three.
It doesn't get any easier from here, the Lady Vols travel to 23rd ranked Texas on Sunday and look to upset the Longhorns. If they shoot anything like they did tonight, they will have a chance to do just that. The game tips off at 5 PM ET and will be on ESPN.
