This past week has an extremely wild week for the Kentucky Wildcats in basketball recruiting.
First, the Cats our of no where lost out on of the most sought after recruits in years for the cats. This happened when Palo Banchero decided that he would commit to Duke. This came as a surprise to me especially with the timing. Kentucky and the crew will still be trying to pull Baanchero away from Duke but I personally don’t see that happening at this point in the game.
This also came on the heels of Kennedy Chandler commuting to Tennessee. That did not come as surprise but was still someone the Cats had been recruiting as well.
Following the Banchero decision the Cats did get the ball rolling on the 2021 class. As the Cats picked their first commitment from 4 star point guard Nolan Hickman. This came out of no where as well as the point guard tweeted “who knew” when announcing his commitment.
Lastly, according to Jack Pilgram of KSR Kentucky has decided to cut ties with big man Brandon Huntley-Hatfield. This is big man that the cats have went after for a long time and this may have caught some people off guard but most of the time when Cal cuts ties with someone there is good reason....
